The site was collected by divers in Spring 1990 from ca. 25 m depth in Lake Michigan east of Chicago. The expedition was directed by Frank Pranschke of Northeastern Illinois University. Stable isotope analysis of wood from this site (13C, 18O, and 2H) was used for climatic reconstruction in the Great Lakes region.
